    Create an instance

    An instance is an independent Minecraft installation. Worlds, mods, and settings in one instance do not change the others.

    Create the instance

    Section titled “Create the instance”
    1. Open the Library.
    2. Select New next to search.
    3. Choose Create instance.
    4. Give it a recognizable name.
    5. Choose the Minecraft version and, if needed, a modloader.
    6. Confirm and wait while Tegra prepares the files.

    Tegra creates an isolated folder, selects compatible components, downloads required files, and assigns the right Java version. The first instance can take longer because shared files also need to be downloaded.

    Expected result

    The instance appears in the Library. Open it, review its details, and select Play.

    Common problems

    Section titled “Common problems”
    • Interrupted download: keep Tegra open and retry from Downloads.
    • Content is unavailable: open Downloads and check for a pending installation.
