Installation and download problems

Start with these checks before deleting files or reinstalling everything.

Tegra will not install

1. Confirm the installer came from the official page.
2. Verify the file matches your operating system and architecture.
3. Check free space and application-folder permissions.
4. Restart the computer to complete pending system updates.
5. Try again and record the exact message shown.

If the message mentions Microsoft Defender SmartScreen, an unknown publisher, or says that Apple could not verify the app, see why security warnings may appear.

A download failed

1. Open Downloads and identify the failed item.
2. Temporarily test without a VPN or proxy.
3. Confirm the computer’s date and time are correct.
4. Free disk space and retry.
5. If only one provider fails, wait a few minutes; its service may be unavailable.

Do not permanently disable antivirus protection. Check its history and allow only the official app or required address.

Avoid downloading DLLs, Java builds, or “fixes” from random sites. Do not delete an instance folder before preserving worlds, and do not run the entire launcher as administrator without a reason.
